Sketchbook Scans: Japan Illustrations
For a current project, five initial drawings directly referencing existing woodblock prints. Eventually to be tweaked, vectorized and coloured.





All are pencil except the samurai (in pen) and Meiji-era Japanese woman, which was pencil drawn then traced in pen on vellum. Next two are both of Emporer Meiji (before and after his "reformation"). Last one is Buddha.

how long have you been drawing for? you have a very different drawing style!
